FIREFLIES (12 -24 months)
Ratio: 5 children to 1 teacher
Total classroom capacity is 10 children
Our youngest toddler classroom provides a safe and nurturing environment where children aged 12 to 24 months can thrive. Designed with their developmental needs in mind, the space features soft toys, age-appropriate learning materials, and engaging play areas.
Here, learning and play go hand-in-hand:
Free Play: Children explore their creativity and imagination through unstructured play with blocks, puzzles, and other stimulating toys.
Art and Music: Little ones express themselves through art and music experiences, fostering creativity and sensory exploration.
Developing Independence: Teachers gently guide children towards self-sufficiency, encouraging them to participate in clean-up routines, practice handwashing, and build positive relationships with their peers.
Our teachers are dedicated to nurturing each child's development through:
Engaging Interactions: Teachers actively engage with children throughout the day, fostering warm relationships and creating a language-rich environment. Conversations, songs, and stories fill the classroom, encouraging communication and a love of learning.
Child-Centered Play: Both indoor and outdoor play are designed to be child-led, with teachers providing support and guidance as needed.
Predictable Routines: Consistent daily routines create a sense of security and help children feel comfortable in their environment.
Please note: Children in this room must be crawling and/or in the early stages of supported walking.
For the safety of the children in our care, we do not accept non-crawlers in this classroom.
A sample classroom schedule is below (this is subject to change based on the needs of the classroom on a given day, though nap and meal times do not shift):
